Renewable energy is also making a strong showing. With 198.5 billion kilowatt-hours generated, there is a year-on-year increase of 19.7%, raising its share by 2.5 percentage points. In the first half of the year, renewable energy installed capacity exceeded 100 million kilowatts, and peak load reached 182 million kilowatts. In August, a record high monthly output of 122.11 billion kilowatt-hours was achieved, and September continued the trend with a growth rate of 10.2%.
During peak summer demand periods this year, daily power generation exceeded 4 billion kilowatt-hours on eighteen occasions. The consecutive record highs in August and September have greatly contributed to energy supply stability.
On October 11, Unit No. 3 at Qinghai Marldang Hydropower Station successfully completed its 72-hour trial run, pushing the hydropower capacity to 21 million kilowatts. Meanwhile, the renewable energy generating capacity reached 126.11 million kilowatts, with its proportion increasing by 2.2 percentage points since the start of the year.
In addition, Tianjin Panshan Unit No. 1 completed boiler turbine reconstruction for full-load operation. New units No. 5 in Zhoushan, Zhejiang and Nos. 3 and 4 in Huizhou, Guangdong successfully finished 168-hour trial runs and commenced commercial operation.
