China proposes energy law to support priority development of renewable energy

The draft Energy Law was submitted to the ninth session of the Standing Committee of the 14th National People's Congress for deliberation on April 23. Based on the reality of China's energy and resource endowment, the draft ADAPTS to the new situation of energy development, and makes provisions at the legal level on basic and major issues in the field of energy.

The draft Energy Law was submitted to the ninth session of the Standing Committee of the 14th National People's Congress for deliberation on April 23. Based on the reality of China's energy and resource endowment, the draft ADAPTS to the new situation of energy development, and makes provisions at the legal level on basic and major issues in the field of energy.

The draft consists of nine chapters and 69 articles, which mainly include eight aspects: upholding the leadership of the Party, improving the energy planning system, improving the energy development and utilization system, strengthening the construction of the energy market system, improving the energy reserve system and emergency response system, strengthening innovation in energy science and technology, strengthening supervision and management, and clarifying legal responsibilities.

The National Energy Administration said that it cooperated with the legislative review of the energy law, carried out pre-research on the introduction of supporting regulations and policies of the energy law, and created a good legal environment for the smooth implementation of the energy law.
